Born in Claremore on Aug. 13, 1947 to Ray and Velma Ferrel Moore, Buddie was reared and educated in his birth community. Following service in the Army during the Vietnam War, Bud began his career as a carpenter. Several years later, he completed his education in Tahlequah. Buddie enjoyed camping, fishing and reading his favorite author, Louis L'Amour. He often expressed the feeling that he was born 100 years too late - at heart, he was a cowboy of the open range. Those who survive Buddie include his beloved fiancee and best friend, Theresa Smith of Claremore; his daughter, Angela Wollems and her husband, Howard of California; his son, Douglas Moore and his wife, Tina of California; five grandchildren, Donya, Noel, Jordin, Kandas and Cody; sisters, Jean Fleming of Tulsa and Polly Roper of Claremore; brothers, Butch Moore of Oologah, Tom Moore of Claremore and Gary Moore of Tulsa; stepmother, Anna Mae Moore of Claremore; stepsister, Elaine Blevins of Claremore; 15 nieces and nephews; 22 great-nieces and nephews; one great- great-nephew; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and his dog, Pete. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Raylene Moore and niece, Tonya Moore Carpenter. Family and friends who knew Buddie are well aware of the extraordinary courage he exhibited in his battle with heart disease. Medical findings available as a result of his staunch resolve to overcome these adversities will serve to benefit many heart patients in the future. Those who wish to honor Buddie's memory may do say by making memorial contributions to the American Heart Association, Memorial & Tribute Processing Center, P.O. Box 1653, Topeka, KS 66601-1653. ************************************************************************* Transcribed from the Claremore Progess Newspaper, we sincerely thank them for allowing us to post these obits on the Rogers Co., OK USGenwebpages http://www.claremoreprogress.com/ copyright c 2002-2003, by webmaster Rogers Co.
