Burial will follow at Chouteau Cemetery. Friends may visit from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Blackie passed away on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002. He was 66. Born April 8, 1936 in Pryor to Louis and Juanita Hickman Nave, Blackie was reared and educated in Chouteau. On Sept. 9, 1966, Juanita Mickens and Blackie were united in marriage in Miami. They made their first home in Pryor, then moved to Claremore in 1981. In the early 1960s, he began operation of Blackie's Feed Store and continued the business for 25 years until his retirement. Blackie raised Great Danes and shared his home with some of them throughout the years. He enjoyed traveling and loved going to horse races and ice hockey games with Juanita. Blackie was well-liked and personable - he had many friends and virtually no enemies. Those who survive include his wife, Juanita, of their home in Claremore; children, Deloris Anderson of Chouteau, Karen Talley of Illinois; Ricky Nave of Peggs and Terry Nave of Texas; five grandchildren; two brothers, Curtis Nave of El Paso, Texas and Gary Nave of Pryor; and sister, Joanne Sala of Prague. ************************************************************************* Transcribed from the Claremore Progess Newspaper, we sincerely thank them for allowing us to post these obits on the Rogers Co., OK USGenwebpages http://www.claremoreprogress.com/ *************************************************************************
