He was 44. Born July 10, 1958 in Omaha, Neb., he was the son of Roy and Claudine Perkins Prewitt. He was married to Rosemary Byrd Prewitt, who survives. He was a guard at Moberly Correctional Center. He was a member of Victory Temple Church but attended the Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Moberly. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge. Michael loved country music and made several country and gospel tapes. He also enjoyed Karaoke. While he lived in Claremore, he was a member of Victory Tabernacle Church and served in the jail ministry. He was preceded in death by his mother and a sister, Royce Ann Thorpe. Michael always will be loved and missed by those who survive him, including his wife, Rosemary; children, Michael William Joseph Prewitt, Sean Michael Prewitt, and Emilee Michelle Prewitt, all of Moberly; brothers, Ronnie Prewitt and Troy Albert Prewitt, both of Treece, Kan., Randy Prewitt of Claremore, Roy Allen Prewitt of Moberly; sister, Claudia Peters of Claremore; granddaughter, Alexis Michelle Brown of Moberly; close friend, Bill Timberman of Claremore; several nieces, nephews and friends. Services were 11 a.m. Saturday at Million-Taylor-Patton Funeral Home in Moberly. Burial followed at Oakland Cemetery.
