Carol Lee Peterson

A memorial service for Carol Lee Peterson will be 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 16, 2002 
in the Chapel of the Garden at Rice Funeral Service. Pastor Roy Shoop will 
officiate. Friends may visit from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. 

Carol passed away at her home on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002. She was 62.

Born in Ames, Iowa on Feb. 5, 1940, Carol's parents were Ernest and Martha 
Pace Miles. 

She was reared and educated in Des Moines, but after a whirlwind romance, 
she and Claremore native, Jay D. Peterson, were married on Aug. 17, 1958 in 
Miami, Okla. This union was blessed with six children. 

The family made its home in various places throughout the years, but this 
area was where they eventually settled - Oologah being home for the last two 
years. 

Jay passed away on Nov. 11, 2001.

Carol is survived by her children, Kay Dee Carter and her husband, Dale of 
Liberal, Kan., Jody Peterson of Claremore, Ernie Peterson and his wife, 
Charlotte, also of Liberal, Paul Peterson of Claremore, Tom Peterson and 
his wife, Tammy of Bucklin, Kan. and Jayme Peterson and her husband, Ron 
Fankhouser of Oologah; grandchildren, Justin, Michael, Bobbie, Wade, Clay, 
Kelsie, Taysie, Camron, Carly, Jaylyn and Jody; great-grandchildren, twins 
Blaine and Tristen, and Ryan. 

She was preceded by her husband, Jay; parents, Ernest and Martha Miles; 
granddaughter, Bailee; daughter-in-law, Keri; and son-in-law, John Shirley
