Charles Sandusky officiating. Burial will follow at Chelsea Cemetery under the direction of the Chelsea Funeral Home. Visitation will be at the funeral home until 8 p.m. Wednesday. Glen died Monday morning, April 22, at his home in Chelsea at the age of 90. The son of Samuel and Edna Casper Ricks was born Jan. 12, 1912 in Stroud. At the age of 13, Glen moved to Chelsea, where he remained. Glen met Elizabeth "Bill" Kilpatrick at a church in Waller. They were married on March 31, 1932 in the Dog Creek Hills area. Glen and Bill lived in the Waller community for a time, while he continued working on the family farm. In the early years of their marriage, Glen played on the Waller Independent basketball teams. In 1947, the Rickses moved to Chelsea, where they both were active in the community. Both were active in the Baptist Church and Glen served as a church trustee. They both enjoyed ball games and were members of the American Legion and Legion Auxiliary. Glen worked in the oil fields as a driller, later going to work for McNabb Coal Co. During World War II, he served in the Army. He retired from work as a Chelsea city employee in 1976. Glen is preceded in death by his wife, Bill; his parents; daughter, Norma Glee; granddaughter, Lisa LaShelle Ricks; sisters, May, Oleta and Eula May; and brothers, Claude, Marvin, Paul, and Sammy.
