(Crawford), 100, passed away peacefully November 9, 2004 at his residence, 6231 N. Montebella Rd, Apt #244, Tucson, Arizona. Born December 25, 1903 in Chelsea, Oklahoma. Predeceased by his wife, Leona, 1996. Survived by two children, Mary Sue Oakes of Vancouver, WA and A. Jay Riggs (Georgia) of Tucson; six grandchildren, Candice J. Jesclard of Anchorage, AK, George R. Riggs of Palmer, AK, Lori Len Bishop of Palmer, AK, Richard S. Aikens of Tucson, Kenton J. Aikens of Vancouver, WA and Sonja Aikens of Wallawalla, WA. Twenty three great grandchildren and seven great, great grandchildren. Art aka Crawford, spent all his working life in forestry, some 30 years with the U.S. Forest Service all of which was in Arizona and New Mexico. Most of this being on the Gila National Forest.Then ten more years with the New Mexico Forestry mostly in northern New Mexico. He was a life member and past master of the Masonic Lodge #10, Mimbres, New Mexico and past worthy patron of the Eastern Star. He was a life member of the Silver City Elks Lodge. Services will be held at the EVERGREEN MORTUARY, 3015 N. Oracle Rd., Tucson, AZ.
