Reverends Ray Crawford of Claremore and Mark Gibbens-Rickman of Tulsa will officiate. Lee passed away on Friday, Feb. 28, 2003, surrounded by family. He was 89. Lee was born Oct. 25, 1913 in Dunning, Ark., to Ella Ida Harvey Russell and Marion "Slim" Malone Russell. In 1925, the family moved to Oklahoma and he attended schools in Bokoshe. On Sunday, July 14, 1935, Lee married Iva Inez Morton at the Russell family home in Bokoshe. In July of 2000, the couple celebrated its 65th wedding anniversary, before Iva's passing in September of that same year. During his lifetime, Lee worked in several vocations, including as a coal miner in Arkansas and Bokoshe, the owner of a cafe in Bokoshe, for the Continental Oil Company in Tulsa, at Crawford's Conoco Station in Tulsa and at McDonnell Douglass Aircraft in California and Tulsa. He retired from McDonnell Douglass in 1975. He was a 57-year member of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, 32nd degree, the United Mine Workers, the United Aerospace Workers and of the University United Methodist Church for more than 30 years. Lee is survived by his son, Marion L. Russell and wife Sally of Ardmore; daughter, Linda K. Brown and husband Gary of Oologah; granddaughters, Denise Bishop of Ardmore, Angela Brown, Heather Smoot and husband Samuel, all of Claremore; grandson, Steven Russell and wife Lori of Norman; great-grand- children, Chad Keller of Duncan, Michael Martin and wife Candie of Ada, Cale, Conner and Rylie Russell of Norman and Hannah and Emma Smoot of Claremore. He was preceded in death by his wife, Iva Inez Russell; mother, Ella Ida Russell; father, Marion Malone Russell; and brothers, Lester, John and Arlie Russell Sr. Memorial contributions can be made in Lee's name to the American Lung Association.
