Rev. Mark Newman will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakhaven Memorial Gardens, under the direction of Rice Funeral Service. Friends may visit at the funeral home from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday and from 8-11 a.m. Monday. Arthur passed away on Friday, June 14, 2002. He was 88. Born in Carrollton, Mo., to Charles and Beulah Phillips Rogers on April 17, 1914. Arthur's family moved to Eldorado, Kan., when he was three-years-old. Eldorado is where Arthur received his education. On Aug. 18, 1938 Arthur and Helen Bradley were married. They made their home in Cyril, Okla. for 37 years. Two sons were born to this union. Arthur worked for the APCO Oil Refinery, retiring in 1974. In 1980, Arthur and Helen moved to Claremore to be closer to family. In 1994 Helen passed away. After Arthur's retirement, he continued to stay busy. His interests included woodworking, helping out at his church, camping, fishing, hunting, auto mechanics and gardening. During his years in Claremore he maintained a greenhouse, earning the title Master Gardener. For several years his beautiful yard earned the designation Yard of the Month. On Oct. 13, 1995, Arthur and Doris Preston were married. Arthur was a man of character and honesty and a perfectionist. His employers valued his integrity and work ethic. He loved people and enjoyed being with family and friends. This sweet, gentle man is survived by his wife Doris, of their home in Claremore; sons, Bob Rogers and Judy of Fayetteville, Ga., and Gary Rogers and Sarah of Jefferson City, Mo.; grandchildren, Michael, Mark, Michelle, Daniel and Nathan Rogers, Sherrie Keipp and Rebecca Alstott; 12 great-grandchildren; and brother, Charles W.
