Redding Wallace E. Redding, a native of Claremore, and 55-year resident of Concord, Calif., passed away at his home on Friday, Dec. 13, at age 78. Friends may visit from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Claremore Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Woodlawn Cemetery. Wallace was a member of SIRS, Rotary and First Presbyterian Church of Concord, Calif. He enjoyed bowling, golf and barbershop quartet singing. He coached "The Flying A's" baseball team in Avon, Calif., where he also worked for Tosco Refinery as assistant manager for 35 years. He served in the First Calvary Division of the U.S. Army from 1944-46 and played football for Oklahoma A&M, where he received his bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering and where he also met his wife, Nawatha. He was the 1941 senior class president of Claremore High School. He is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Nawatha Krebs Redding, a native of Eufaula. Wallace is survived by his children, Ron Redding of Pleasant Hill, Calif., Rebecca Smith or Orinda, Calif., and Ross Redding of Modesto, Calif; six grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Jaquita and Bob Hirschi of Oklahoma City, brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Frances Krebs of Sterling, Colo.
