Burial will follow at the Rawlings Family Cemetery under the direction of Rice Funeral Service. Father Dan Perlinksi will officiate. A rosary service will be 7 p.m. Wednesday evening in the Chapel of the Garden at Rice Funeral Service. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until service time. Bea passed away on Monday, June 24. She was 78. Born on Feb. 3, 1924 in Claremore to Webster and Pearl Chisholm. Bea was reared and educated in Sperry. She and Amos Michael "Mike" Rawlings were married on Dec. 9, 1941 in Claremore. Their first home was in Sapulpa where they worked together in the operation of a dairy farm. During the war years, while Mike served in the Army, Bea contributed to the war effort at both Douglas and Spartan airline assembly facilities. In 1946, the family moved to a property east of Claremore and has made it home since. Bea and Amos were blessed with two sons. Bea worked at Montgomery Wards for a time, then the Humpty Supermarket and Safeway, where she was the bakery manager; in addition to running a dairy on their property. In her spare time, Bea could be found in the stands at sporting events, cheering on her boys in their athletic endeavors, either baseball or basketball. Bea loved to cook. Each child and then the grandchildren had their favorite meal that "Mama Bea" prepared. She thoroughly enjoyed waiting on, feeding and loving those around her. She loved her grandchildren and baby-sitting was never a burden, but rather a delight. Her annual July Fourth events, complete with her trademark good food, were treasured family affairs. Mr. Rawlings passed away in 1991 and Bea continued to reside at their country home. Those who survive Bea and were always close to her heart include her son, Michael Rawlings of Claremore; daughter-in-law, Frankie Rawlings, also of Claremore; grandchildren, Brad Rawlings and wife Tammy of Chelsea, Steve Rawlings and wife Maren, stationed in Germany with the U.S. Army, and Stacy Stroud and husband Tim of Chelsea; great-grandchildren Courtni, Matthew, Ryan, Kaila, Dustin, Daltyn and Zakree, who will come into this world on Thursday; her niece and nephew that she was Mama Bea to, Camden and Jake Williams of Claremore; brother, Virgil Chisholm of Sperry; and many other much-loved children. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son, Pat and sister, Christine. ************************************************************************* We thank the Claremore Progess Newspaper for allowing us to post these obits on the Rogers Co., OK USGenwebpages http://www.claremoreprogress.com/ *************************************************************************
