"C.P." Sisco of Claremore died Friday, Oct. 11, 2002 at the Oklahoma Veterans Center in Claremore. He was 80. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Wann Cemetery, in Rogers County near Oologah. Brother Wayne Phillips of the Sequoyah Full Gospel Church at Claremore will officiate. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside and funeral arrangements are under the direction of Stumpff-Nowata Funeral Home. Sisco was born Oct. 4, 1922 in Cleveland, Okla., to John W. and Usley (Boggs) Sisco. He grew up and received his education in the Locust Grove and Claremore areas and was married to Elizabeth Sullivan on Jan. 17, 1941 in Claremore. Sisco entered the U.S. Army on Dec. 4, 1941, serving in the European Theater and receiving the Purple Heart and four Bronze Stars. He received his Honorable Discharge on July 6, 1945. He returned to Claremore and later the family made its home in Collinsville from 1952 until 1962, when they returned to Claremore. Sisco was active as a truck driver for Magic Empire Express for more than 30 years until his retirement in 1974. He was an ordained minister of the Gospel and was also an avid hunter and fisherman. Sisco is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Sisco of Claremore; sons, Phillip Sisco and wife Glenda, Ray Sisco and Tim Sisco and wife Michelle, all of Claremore; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
