Born in Long Beach, Calif. on Sept. 1, 1942 to Everett Sr. and Jewel Crowson Sexton, he was reared and educated in Hawaiian Gardens, Calif. through the ninth grade. Moving to Arkansas, Everett graduated from Perryville High School. He attended Ceretos Junior College in California and attended a year of college in Arkansas before entering the Air Force. He was stationed in Texas during his four years of military duty and it was there that he began training in what was to become his professional career in the airline industry. On June 29, 1963, Everett and Sandra Jean Doughty, who had been neighbors in Arkansas, were married at Thornburg Baptist Church. Two daughters blessed this union. Everett was employed as a production supervisor at American Airlines. In 1973, the family relocated to the Verdigris area. Everett was an active member of the Verdigris Baptist Church, serving as Deacon chair. He was kind and caring, a selfless man who had the innate ability to see others' needs and then meet them. He enjoyed fishing, rodeoing, 4-H and building rockets, activities which allowed him to spend time with his children and grandchildren, whom he dearly loved. Most recently, Everett and grandson Jenson devoted all of their spare time to racing four-wheelers. Affectionately called "Papa" by his grandchildren, this wonderful man will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife Sandra of their home in Verdigris; daughters, Shari Willis and husband Wayne, also of Verdigris, and Shawnna Sexton of Fayetteville, Ark.; grandchildren, Jenson Roberts of Verdigris, Jake Willis of Claremore, Adam Willis of Sunrise, Fla. and Emily Willis of Plymouth, Minn.; great- grandchildren, Gracie Willis of Claremore and Austyn Willis of Florida; parents, Everett and Jewel Sexton of Thornburg; brother, Joe Sexton of Little Rock, Ark.; and sisters, Diedra Corder and Teri Sexton, also of Thornburg.
