John W. Sexton

John W. Sexton, 82, of Amarillo, died Monday, May 17, 1999.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral 
Directors, Ivy Chapel, 2820 Virginia Circle, with the Rev. Alan 
Lobaugh, pastor of First Christian Church, and Dr. John Bridwell, 
minister emeritus, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery.

Mr. Sexton was born in Blackwell, Okla., and attended Oklahoma A&M 
University. He had lived in Amarillo since 1953. He was a 50-year 
member of Pampa Masonic Lodge No. 966, the Amarillo Cat Fanciers Club 
and the First Christian Church.

He married Mildred Catherine Sexton in 1939 at Claremore, Okla. She 
died in 1985.

Survivors include two daughters, Carol Blakley and Betty Shelafo, 
both of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
