Officiating will be ministers from Oklahoma City, John and Marty Burris. Burial will follow at Oakhaven Memorial Gardens in Claremore. Visitation will be until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Clinton died Sunday, June 23, at Claremore Regional Hospital at the age of 76. The son of William Harley and Bell Sisco Shrum was born Aug. 29, 1925 in Bushyhead. He attended school in Justus and Claremont. As a young man, Clinton began driving for Continental Coach Company. He stopped in many towns across the country while making his runs. Vinita, however, was his favorite stop. It was there that he met Oleta Hunt. They were married Nov. 22, 1956 in Claremore, where they made their home. Clinton then began as an owner/operator of Ambassador Coach Lines and later Osage Hills. Due to an illness, he retired from driving, having worked for other companies such as Arkhoma and Greyhound. He then started operating ACL Taxi service in Claremore, serving as dispatcher. He was an active member of the Republican Party and was invited to President Bush's inauguration, as well as Gov. Frank Keating's. Clinton was a member of the Terry Street Church of Christ, Claremore. Clinton was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Charley, Cliff, Albert and Alva Shrum, Leota Johnson and Bertie Wilson. He is survived by his wife, Oleta of the home; sons, Mark Shrum and wife Debbie of Winganon, Mike Shrum and wife Joy of Claremore and David Shrum of Broken Arrow; daughters, Virginia Luellen and husband Jim of Nowata, Doris Murphy and husband Walt of Broken Arrow and Brenda Dunn of Greenwood Village, Colo.; sisters, Pauline George and Dorothy McFarland of Claremore; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
