Rev. B.G. Guthrie officiated. Burial followed at Lone Elm Cemetery in Claremore. Joe passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2002. He was 68 years old. Born in Dallas on Dec. 11, 1933 to Jesse and Anna Stepp Tucker, Joe was reared and educated in Corpus Christi. After his school years, he attended tech school in Beaumont, Texas. He then served in the Navy until an injury ended his naval career. Receiving an honorable discharge, Joe began his career as an electrician. He was employed in this field in several different Texas cities, including Houston and Corpus Christi, as well as Inola and Tulsa in Oklahoma. In June of 1961, Joe and Mary Elizabeth Donnell were married in Memphis and made their home for almost 20 years in Corpus Christi. Two children were born to this union. Joe enjoyed Southern gospel music and sang in his church choir. He loved animals, particularly cats and dogs. A move to Claremore in 2001 brought Joe closer to his children, who both resided here. He loved garage sales, collecting things and shopping. A courageous fighter who loved life, his survivors include his children, Joe Tucker and wife Sandra, and Vicki Williams and her husband J.D., all of Claremore; stepson, James K. Tucker and wife Henny of Fresno, Texas; grandchildren, Joshua and Matthew Tucker, Janessa and Melynda Williams, all of Claremore, Tammy Tucker of Alvin, Texas and Timothy Tucker of Fairbanks, Alaska.; friend and former wife, Mary Tucker of Claremore; cousin, J.O. Tucker of Tulsa; and other cousins not living nearby; one nephew and four nieces. He was preceded by his parents; two sisters, Daffodee Tucker and Mildred Timmerman; and two brothers, Jack Tucker and James E.
