He was 58. Family visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2002 at Claremore Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2002 in the Claremore Funeral Home Chapel. Interment follows at Lone Elm Cemetery in Claremore. Keener was born Dec. 4, 1943 in Vian to Johnson and Lucille (Collier) Vann. On Sept. 2, 1998, he married Gloria Evans in Miami, Okla. Keener served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era. He was a lifelong area resident and a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Keener was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and LuLu Collier; mother, Lucille Vann; and uncle, Ed Collier. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Vann of Foyil; father, Johnson Vann of Foyil; brothers and sisters, John and Hazel Vann and Phillis and James Wells, all of Foyil, and Gerald and Vickie Vann of Claremore; aunts, Miza Beel and Sophia Fields, both of Claremore, Ella Anquoe of Tulsa, and Jean Mertins of Wichita, Kan.; uncle, Abe Collier of Tulsa; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.
