She was born May 4, 1946 in Oklahoma City to Paul W. and Juanita (Prather) Porter. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2002 at Soul's Harbor in Catoosa. Interment follows at Owalla Cemetery in Claremore. Ralph and Gloria were married on Dec. 19, 1962 in Tijuana, Mexico. Gloria was a housewife, mother and minister. She is preceded in death by a brother, Dan Porter. Gloria is survived by her husband, Ralph Van Valkenburg of Claremore; mother, Juanita Porter of Catoosa; children, Jeffrey Van Valkenburg of Alpharetta, Ga., Tony Van Valkenburg of Saratoga Springs, N.Y., Chris Van Valkenburg and Kimberly Van Valkenburg Toenjes, both of Claremore brother, Gary Porter of Sapulpa; sisters, Carol Porter of Sapulpa, Cheryl Campbell of Kellyville, Okla., and Kathy Mathews of Loma Linda, Calif. and six grandchildren.
