Walkup (This is Wendy Gayles dad, she hosted this site for quite a while.) Our deepest condolences Wendy. WALKUP -- H. Gordon, 68, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 28, 2003 in Tulsa. He was born May 22, 1934 to Harold Clifford and Lera Martha Mullikin Walkup in Tulsa, OK. He attended Central High School and later joined the U. S. Army in 1953. He started his career as a Saleman and a Printer for companies such as Charles T. Clark, A. B. Dick. He received many awards including Salesman of the Year. He was preceded in death by his parents and second wife, Gloria "Candy" Walkup (nee Greenlee). He is survived by his sister Peggy Stevens, daughters, Tammara Boyd and Wendy Gayle Barry; stepchildren, Leland and Lucinda Maines; grandchildren, Shaun and Ashley Boyd and Kassidy and Max Barry; and a very dear friend, Virginia Lovelace. He was a good friend to all who knew him, he had a wonderful sense of humor and he was a wonderful father and grandfather. He will truly be missed so a celebration of his life is a must. All his family and friends are welcome for a remembrance gathering at his home... in lieu of flowers, please make donations to Cure Autism Now, 5455 Wilshire Blvd. #715, Los Angeles, CA 90036. This was the hardest obituary to do, this is my beloved daddy. This is the person that loved me unconditionally and was a great man. He meant everything to me. He had pancreatic cancer and went in for a biopsy to determine how bad it was, it was not that far along but he had a bad reaction to the anesthesia. He fought tooth and nail to take off the oxygen mask and go home. Toward the end, he lay quietly and took his last breath. Nothing ever prepares you for the death of a parent, nothing. We had to go through some of his things and I found the birthday card he bought me for this month. Daddy was cremated, me and my sister Tammara have some of them. I can now have him with me always. I am going to get a box for the flag we were given and put his ashes and Army items in with it along with my grandfather's items from WWII. The rest of his cremains will be taken to Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, OK. He will be buried next to his father Harold Clifford Walkup and next to his grandparents, Willie Valentine Walkup and Fred Gordon Walkup. ***********************************************************************
