Joe was born in Hot Springs, Ark., on May 6, 1938 to Audie and Elburn York. He was employed with McDonnell Douglas for 35-plus years, along with serving in the U.S. Military. York was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God in Sheridan. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Houston York; and sisters, L.C. Hobby, Hazel Runion and Nateline Hobbs. Mr. York is survived by his wife, Camy York of Sheridan; sons, Joseph York of Hot Springs, Ark., Jeffrey York of Sheridan and Edward York of Claremore; daughters, Diana Elam of Bentonville, Ark., Elizabeth Burrup of Sheridan, Letha Irons of Dumas, and Jody Kraft of Sheridan; 25 grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren; brothers, Bill York of Malvern, Ark., and Roy York of Glenwood, Ark.; sisters, Barbara Brown, Loretta Duke, Pam Howard and Brenda Buckelew, all of Hot Springs, and Bernice Brown and Sharon Brown of Malvern; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, 2002 in the chapel of Regency Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Rockport Memorial Garden in Malvern.
