Funeral services for Sasakwa 
native Eula Cully Powell are 
scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at 
Akasvmkv Baptist Church in 
Wewoka.
Rev. Wiley King and Rev. Dan 
Factor are set to officiate.
Burial is to follow at Tate 
Mountain Cemetery under the 
direction of Hudson-Philips Fu-
neral Home of Holdenville.
Wake services are to be held in 
Powell’s home at 203 East Cy-
press in Holdenville at 7:30 p.m. 
tonight.
The casket will be taken to the 
church at 5 p.m. Friday for the 
evening services there.
Powell died Wednesday, Dec. 
26, 2001 in Tulsa at the age of 83.
She was born Aug. 29, 1918 in 
Sasakwa to Lena Wolfe and 
James Cully.
She was raised in the Konawa 
and Sasakwa areas and attended 
Vamoosa and Sacred Heart 
schools.
Powell was preceded in death 
by her parents; one son, Ronald 
Dean Johnson; three brothers, 
Benny Cully, Paul Cully, and 
Dave Cully; and one sister, Imelia 
Kernell.
She is survived by one grand-
daughter, Michelle Johnson of 
Ada; one grandson, Jackie Tiger 
of Ada; one sister, Shirley “Scott” 
Squire of Glenpool; and one 
brother, Johnson Scott “Johnny 
Hawk” of Oklahoma City.
