All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== The Bakersfield Californian 11 December 2003 DARREL FLOYD BELLER 8/4/1942 - 12/7/2003 A graveside service will be conducted by Peters Funeral Home for Darrel Floyd Beller, age 61, on Saturday, December 13, 2003, at 11:00 a.m., at Shafter Memorial Park. Darrel was born in Muldrow, Oklahoma, to E. Virgil and Ruby Beller and in 1946, the family moved to Arvin. He was a graduate of Arvin High School Class of 1959. He married Sheila Slater in Las Vegas on October 1, 1977. Darrel enjoyed his life and had a competitive nature, he won many awards for his entries in the Chili Cook Offs, and also enjoyed participating in Menudo Cook Offs, through the United States and Mexico, including the cook offs held at Stramler Park. He built his own tractor and anywhere there was a tractor pull, he was there. He loved entertaining and would throw BBQ's, cooking anything from frog legs to crawdads to abalone. He shared his time with his family and friends, and was often seen three wheeling at the Pismo Dunes in his beach buggy or clam digging. He enjoyed the mountains, and hunting deer, squirrels, doves or just fishing. Darrel would often go "Frog Gigging." Darrel touched many lives and was greatly loved. He was preceded in death by his son, Dustin (Feb. 1966). He is survived by his best friend and greatest supporter and wife of 26 years, Sheila; mother, Ruby Beller of Muldrow, Oklahoma; son, Cary and wife, Trish Beller, daughter, Cora and husband, Barry Manning; brothers, Gene Beller all of Bakersfield, and Warren Beller; and sister, Tammy Kelley of Muldrow, Oklahoma; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren Peters Funeral Home-Shafter -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Sequoyah County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/sequoyah/sequoyah.htm
