All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Sallisaw Cemetery--Sallisaw OK Lawton Constituion 8 Aug 2003 FLETCHER - Graveside service with military honors for Winter David Burrow, 89, Fletcher, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sallisaw Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Hall, pastor, Fletcher Christian Church, officiating. Mr. Burrow died Monday, Aug. 4, 2003, at a Cyril care center. Arrangements are by Hodge Funeral Home, Fletcher. He was born Aug. 24, 1913, in Hanson, to William D. and Emma Carter Burrow. He graduated from Central High School, Oklahoma City, in 1931. He graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma in 1936 with a major in art. He married Dorothy Herring on June 8, 1936, in Oklahoma City. He was an art teacher at Foster High School, near Oklahoma City, from 1936 to 1938. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was a postal clerk in Oklahoma City for 20 years. They moved to Rosebrug, Ore., where he served as a recreation specialist for the Veterans Administration Center for eight years. He was a member of the Water Colors Society of Oregon, and won many merits for his work. He was a member of and a deacon at Roseburg First Presbyterian Church. He also served in other church offices. He was the Featherweight Boxing Champion of Oklahoma in 1934-35. He and his wife moved to the Fletcher area four years ago. Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Paul Burrow and his wife, Mary, Lincoln, Neb.; a daughter, Ann Wisener and her husband, Tom, Fletcher; four grandchildren: Susan Wisener, Wichita Falls, Texas; Jennifer Mears and her husband, Marcus, Edmond; David Burrow, Lancaster, Pa.; and Jillian Burrow, Kansas City, Mo.; and a nephew, Charles Noble, Tulsa.
