Coday, 76, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, passed away Monday, April 8, 2002, in Sallisaw. Mr. Coday was born October 10, 1925 in Locust Grove, Oklahoma, the son of Claude and Josie (Dorsey) Coday. On December 23, 1946, in Sallisaw, he was married to Kathirene Gibson. He enjoyed working with cattle , employed with Crown Zellerbach, was a construction worker and former union member. Survivors in addition to his wife Kathirene are: Three daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Paul Shaddox of Bixby, Oklahoma, Jo Ann and Jerry Lowery and Charlotte and Michael Barrett all of Sallisaw; five sons and two daughters-in-law; Claude Coday, Felix Coday, Billy Coday and Rick and Margarita Coday, all of Sallisaw and Raymond Coday, Sr., and Sandra of Vian, Oklahoma; one brother, Kenneth Coday of Byron, Oklahoma; fourteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren; brothers-in-law and sisters-in- law, Johnny and Lizzie Mae Todd and Zeb and Ruby Gene Jackson; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father, Felix Denton; two sons, Floyd Henry and Kenneth Wayne Coday and one great grandson, Floyd Gabriel Coday. Services were held Wednesday, April 8, at the Blunt Baptist Church, north of Sallisaw, with Reverend Leroy Reid officiating. Burial was in the McCoy Cemetery, north of Sallisaw, with military honors provided by the American Legion, supported by Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans. Mr. Coday was a veteran of World War II.
