Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2820 Virginia Circle, with the Rev. Jay Roberson, pastor of Liberty Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Compton was born in Blackgum, Okla., and had been an Amarillo resident since 1952. She was a homemaker and a member of Grace Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bert D. Compton. Survivors include four daughters, Augusta Dameron of Oklahoma City, Katherine Chambers of Wagoner, Okla., Betty Rogers of Amarillo and Ethel Jean Pickering of Laurel, Miss.; four sons, Charles W. Compton of Tulsa, Okla., and Gene Compton, Bert Compton and Gary Compton, all of Amarillo; a brother, Vester Anderson of Joplin, Mo.; 25 grandchildren; and 38 great- grandchildren.
