Dunn, Stella May

Visitation for Stella May Dunn will be held at Basham Funeral Care 
(3312 Niles Street) on Friday, August 18, 2006 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. 
Chapel services will be held in the Basham Funeral Care Chapel on 
Saturday morning, August 19, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow 
at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pastor Larry Wood from Valley Baptist 
Church will conduct the service and Jim Bomar assisting with the 
music. Stella was born November 1, 1914 in Vian, Oklahoma and she 
went to be with the Lord on August 15, 2006 in Port Orchard, 
Washington where she had resided for the past five years. She married 
Weldon Dunn on October 1, 1933. She was a long time member of the 
Columbus Street Church, Bakersfield. Stella, Weldon and their oldest 
daughter Christine were baptized in Believer's Baptism on Easter 
Sunday in Oklahoma in 1947. Stella was employed by the Pondham 
Elementary School for twenty four years as a cafeteria cook and 
manager. Stella was a wonderful cook and loved to prepare the meals 
and pies for the whole family on all the holidays. She is preceded in 
death by her husband, Weldon Dunn and her son, Kenneth Dunn. She is 
survived by her daughter, Christine Bell and husband Jack of 
Bakersfield; daughter, Sheran DeLeon and husband Tony of Port 
Orchard, Washington; daughter-in-law, Wanda Dunn of McFarland; six 
grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and sister, Hettie Stewart 
of California City. The family wishes to thank Sheran and Tony DeLeon 
and Carrie and Bill Mast of Port Orchard, Washington for their loving 
care of Mom the last five years. She was loved by all who knew her 
and she will be deeply missed. For additional service or floral
