All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Havenbrook FH--Norman OK Havenbrook Funeral Home Obituary Sara Ethel Keck Foreman Sara Ethel Keck Foreman, 89, of Norman, Oklahoma, died Wednesday, May 11, 2005, in Norman, Oklahoma. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Sunday, May 15, 2005, at Havenbrook Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, May 16, 2005, at McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church with Reverend Phil Fenn officiating. Pallbearers will be Alan Wood, Nick Valentino Jr., Nick Valentino Sr., Charles Heinrichs, Steve Foreman and Joe Foreman. Interment will follow at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Norman, Oklahoma. Mrs. Foreman was born June 28, 1915, in Vian, Oklahoma, to Joseph and Stella (Williams) Keck.. She grew up in Vian and graduated from Vian High School in 1933. She married Harry G. Foreman on June 4, 1939. Mrs. Foreman received a B.A. degree in English and Education from Northeastern State University. They moved to Norman in 1948. She received a Masters degree from the University of Oklahoma. Mrs. Foreman taught at White Oak School in Craig County, Oklahoma and served as Special Education teacher at University School in Norman. She also was a primary teacher at Washington School in Norman and Shields' Heights school in Oklahoma City. Mrs. Foreman retired from teaching after thirty-five years. She was a member of a number of community and national organizations including Delta Kappa Gamma, Rotary International, Altrusa International, Sorosis Daughters, the Cleveland County Youth and Family Center, Cleveland County Historical Society, Food for Friends, Cleveland/McClain Retired Educators and the Oklahoma Education Association. She also served as chairman of the Association of University Women, past president of the Ex Libris Book Review Club, past president of American Childhood Education, past president of the Oklahoma Reading Council, and on the executive board of the Oklahoma Reading Council. Mrs Foreman was a Hospital Auxiliary volunteer at Norman Regional Hospital and served with the Civic Improvement Counsel for the City of Norman. She was a member of McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church in Norman Mrs. Foreman was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Stella Keck; husband, Harry; four brothers, Raymond, Theodore, Norman and Joseph Russell Keck; and sister, Mattie Keck. Survivors include two sons, Dr. Joe G. Foreman, of Alexandria, VA, and G. Stephen Foreman, of Norman, niece, Frances Ritchie, of Muskogee, OK; and four grandchildren, Lowell Foreman Heinrichs and husband, Charles, of Waldrof, MD, Stephanie S. Foreman, of Norman, Allyson E. Foreman, of Alexandria, VA and Erin L. Foreman, of Alexandria, VA.
