Born in Gannes, Oklahoma, a resident of Tucson for over 50 years, and a retired educator, she taught in TUSD for over 40 years. A community activist, she was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Tucson Chapter of Links, Inc., NAACP, YWCA, Delta Kappa Gamma Int., plus many other civic organizations. Everlyn is survived by her husband Marshall I. Franks, daughter Theressa Jackson-Dunevant (Thomas), sister Gladys Powell (Arnell), brother Sam Steward (Helen) and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 5, 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, 1050 N. Dodge, Tucson. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 6 at Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 210 E. Lester Street, Tucson. Interment will be at South Lawn Cemetery, 5401 S. Park Ave., Tucson.
