All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::City Cemetery--Gore OK Services for Vernon Louise "Maw" Henry, 89, of Gore, OK, were held Thursday, Nov. 1, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Notchietown Baptist Church, north of Gore, Oklahoma with Rev. Wendell Cox officiating. Burial was at Gore City Cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw, OK. Mrs. Henry was born March 19, 1918 in Gore, Oklahoma, the daughter of William Marion Ayers and Bonnie Mae (Tippin) Ayers. She was married to Ray Woodrow Henry on December 18, 1936 in Phoenix, AZ. He preceded her in death on June 27, 1993. Mrs. Henry was a homemaker and worked for Gore Public Schools as a cook for 18 years. She served on the Gore City Council for over 30 years where she was an integral part of the completion of the Steve Owens Sports Complex. She was a Baptist and attended Kiamichi Church Camp every year while she was able. Mrs. Henry passed this life on October 29, 2007 in Gore, Oklahoma. She leaves to mourn her passing 1 son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Velma Henry of Gore, OK, 3 grandsons and granddaughters-in-law, Mike and Ashley Henry of Muskogee, OK, Jerry, Jr. and Tammy Henry of Sallisaw, OK and Brek and Kim Henry of Claremore, OK, 6 great- granddaughters; Lindsey Rae, Micah Leanna and Haidyn Brooke Henry of Muskogee, OK, Faith and Gracie Henry of Sallisaw, OK, and Kloe Henry of Claremore, OK, 1 great-grandson, Kelby Henry of Claremore, OK. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Ray Woodrow Henry, 1 son, James Ray Henry in 1982, parents, William Marion Ayers and Bonnie Mae (Tippin) Ayers Henry and 3 sisters; Vivian Barrick, Katie Broughton and Blanche Cole. Pallbearers were J.P. Ferguson, Tex Ferguson, Larry Carter, Dana Tracy, Jerry Fields and Arnold Bennett. Honorary pallbearers were Bill Summers, H. B.
