Rogers had 50 passes to the annual spring polo tournament at Zacaweista Ranch in Vernon, Texas. “A lot of people never have seen a polo game and might like to go,” Rogers said. 25 Years Ago: A midst thunderstorm activity Duncan police teamed with area CB clubs in a massive search for a patient missing from a local nursing home. Duncan Police Chief Dale Anderson said patrol units and CB radio operators canvassed the city in search of the missing man who later returned to the nursing home on his own. 10 Years Ago: Duncan’s officials were given a tour of the facilities at Hamilton House on Plato Road. Musician L.G. Brown explained some of his studio equipment to Chamber of Commerce Director Sam Cartwright and Mayor Wayne Holden. Five Years Ago: As quietly as a small train can, the Artrain carrying artworks commissioned by the Smithsonian Associates slipped into Duncan and parked on a siding next to Joe Brown Company. The artwork was on display in three gallery cars, originally passenger cars from 1924, 1930 and 1950. A 1946 baggage car served as a studio car, where a staff artist and local artists showed off their works in progress. One Year Ago: Sarah Fowler of Marlow experienced what bumper-to-bumper traffic might be like at a carnival ride at the Great Plains Amusements carnival.
