In a dedicatory talk at the awards assembly, Editor Pat Worrell cited Waters’ “hard work and assistance which enabled us to have an annual this year.” 25 Years Ago: Diplomas were given a final check in preparation for the Duncan High School commencement exercises held in Halliburton Stadium. A total of 310 seniors were expected to graduate with the 1977 DHS senior class. 10 Years Ago: Brendhan Fritts, Amber Patterson, Keana Snider and Amy Prater scrubbed for money during a fundraising car wash in Duncan. The girls, members of Stephens County’s Livestock Judging Team, were raising money for a trip to a national judging contest in Louisville, Ky. Five Years Ago: State Rep. Jari Askins was one of 40 leaders from across the nation selected for the Toll Fellowship Program sponsored by the Council of State Governments. The week long seminar, which was held in Lexington, Ky., is designed to develop the next generation of government leaders through interaction with a select group of distinguished political, academic and private sector faculty.
