Police said water was running curb deep more than three blocks away when they investigated. Water department men halted the water flow, which cracked the paving, allowing it to settle in the area above the break. 25 Years Ago: Getting into the swing of things was 8-year-old Darin Frizzell as the Duncan Youth Council’s summer recreational program started. Frizzell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Frizzell, played T-ball for Playday. Three more sports were schedule to begin later in the week as part of the summer youth program. 10 Years Ago: A Duncan group hoped a new crisis hotline would give a local outlet for those who might be the victims of domestic violence or be in a crisis situation. The group, which was incorporated, had also been working towards the creation of a Duncan safehouse as a long-term goal of Volunteers for Crisis Intervention. Five Years Ago: Duncan Fire Chief Perry Brinegar poured water for fireman Dewayne Kaspereit at a house fire. Firefighters battled a blaze at 3303 Country Club that started in a window air conditioning unit. One Year Ago: Area lakes were humming with activities as people seemed to be taking advantage of the three-day weekend.
