They are to be complimented for the way this department is being handled.” 25 Years Ago: The story of Halliburton Services from it’s one-man, one- vechicle humble beginning in 1918 to the massive worldwide operation that runs into billions of dollars a year was shown to Duncan Rotary Club members at their luncheon meeting. 10 Years Ago: Several members of the Marlow chapter of Young Homemakers of Oklahoma (YHO) met in the home economics department of Marlow High School to quilt. But they did not all sit around a quilting frame stitching on one member’s quilt. Instead, each member whipped up her own quilt by machine. Five Years Ago: Duncan High School graduate Jennifer Willeford got ready to roll in the Human Bowling Ball during Project Graduation. Seniors were given a variety of activities to do at the after-graduation, all-night party. One Year Ago: Clayton Lee explored gyroscopic inertia during an experiment at the Sooner Flight Academy at Halliburton Field. The week long activity, tailored for students in second to seventh grade was filled with experiments on aerodynamics. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Stephens County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/stephens/stephens.htm
