The water storage level dropped 3-1/4 feet as a result. 25 Years Ago: An old-fashioned day of fun and fellowship was on tap as the Marlow Outlaw City CB’ers Club prepared to sponsor the big Marlow Independence Day activities with something for everyone. 10 Years Ago: Duncan Postmaster Donnie Bain displayed the special cancellation that was to be used to commemorate Duncan Centennial celebration. Comanche cowboy Gary Ledford got set to flip a calf to the ground while competing in the first go-round in the calf roping even at the Duncan Noon Lions Rodeo at Claud Gill Arena. Five Years Ago: Betty Bradley, Sharleen Johns and Amanda Collier went through some of the 18 quilts that were on display at the Stephens County Historical Museum. The show, sponsored by Mountain Mist and Steames & Foster Textiles was held in conjunction with Duncan’s Heritage Day celebration. One Year Ago: Phyllis Sorrels of Mustang won the 50/50 Poker Run during the a fundraiser of Heartland Hospice of Duncan.
