Youths under 21 years old cannot obtain marriage licenses without the consent of parents or guardians. At least one county officer was asked to prevent the mariage (sic), but replied that he could do nothing to stop a marriage if the licenses had been issued. Efforts then were begun to halt or prevent a lincese from being issued. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Stephens County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/stephens/stephens.htm
