L. CHENNEY broke one of his fingers. The boys were there to attend Sunday school. All Right J. W. B. NICHOLS has just been notified by the interior department that he, with his family, and his father, O. M. NICHOLS, and family, NIGHTON BROWN and family are several other families have been retained on the Indian rolls, and will be given allotments. This has been a long drawn out contest with a fortunate and correct ending for these people. The News rejoices with these friends in the result. 50th Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. LOUIS DIEHL celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last night at the home of their son, W. M. DIEHL. They had said nothing about it until yesterday afternoon, when they called at the home of their son and demanded a supper prepared for the occasion. A phone message was then sent to their daughter, MRS. JOHNSON, who lives in the country, but she did not then have time to come. There was no ceremony pronounced but the families spent an enjoyable evening. The News hopes Mr. and Mrs. DIEHL will live celebrate many more anniversaries of a happy marriage that occurred 50 years ago. Territory Topics Died from Effects of Blow-- T. M. JOHNSON of Junction City, who was struck on the head with a piece of two by four by F. A. FOWLER at Junction City, died from the effects at the Lawton hospital. Fowler was arrested and placed in the county jail. The controversy arose over a dispute over a lumber bill which was owned Johnson to the Block Lumber Company of which Fowler was manager. Warrants for the Lynchers U. S. MARSHAL PORTER has completed his investigation of the lynching and burning of WILL DAVIS at Womack and will make a report to the department of justice. Will Sue Prison Officials--IRA N. TERRILL, recently paroled from the Noble County jail, who has been living in Oklahoma City for several weeks, left for Cherokee County, Kansas where he will visit his family whom he has not seen since his release. Before leaving Mr. Terrill said he would, while in Kansas, institute proceedings against the officers of the Kansas prison at Lansing to recover money he says is due him for work performed while in prison. Mr. Terrill says there is no record to show that he was a convict and that being the case, thinks he is entitled to pay for the work done by him. Arrested for Dispensing--JOHN IVERS was arrested at Perry for disposing of liquor to Indians. DEPUTY PHIL SOURS made the arrest. JIM PICKARD is under arrest at Anadarko with the same offense. --------------------------------------------- Friday, August 32, 1906 Comanche Soon to Have Three National Banks Go as Witnesses MAYOR HARLEY, H. L. DEATON, C. D. TERRY, and C. E. PRUDOM will leave this afternoon for Abilene, Texas where they go as U. S. witnesses in the case of the U. S. against J. M. CAUDLE, charged with the murder of his son-in-law, ESCO DANIELS who was found on the Rock Island railroad track 2 ½ miles north of Comanche, literally torn to pieces by passing trains on the 17th of last July. The evidence against Caudle is all circumstantial. Boy Killed by Lightning Ralston, ok. Aug. 27-- A heavy rain visited this section last evening, followed by a severe electrical storm, lasting one hour, during which the farm house of D. M. HOGGATT, northwest of this place, was struck by lightning, killing SILAS, the 10 year old son and severely burning the mother and younger boy. Local Columns ELDER D. S. LIGON went to Park for a few days. FRANK NANCE of Sweetwater, Texas is visiting the family of A. B WEAKLEY. He is an uncle of MRS. WEAKLEY. MRS. W. H. CATTERALL and children will return home. Mr. and Mrs. A. E. FOSTER will leave this afternoon for Graham, Texas where they go in response to a telephone message stating that Mrs. Foster's father is in a dying state from cancer. MRS. STELLA PENDLETON arrived from Altus to visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. PATTY. MISS A. W. PARK who has been visiting Miss TILIE COPELAND will return to Dallas. MISS MABEL E. FLIPPEN is moving to the ABE YATES residence today on the corn of Hill and Fifth Streets. Her mother will come from Fort Worth in a few days. EARL HUNT left this morning for Mineral Wells, Texas to visit friends. TEMPIE ATKINS left last night for his father's ranch in the Texas panhandle. The dance given at the K. of P. Hall last night was greatly enjoyed by those present. The music, a four piece orchestra presided over by P. D. ROGERS, was especially fine. Mr. and Mrs. ROBERT COX of Beaver County, Oklahoma arrived to visit the family of MRS. P. A. COX. N. B. WOOLSEY of Woolsey is in town today. MISS RENA BRANCH went to Fort Worth to visit friends. MISS ALTA TANKERSLEY is visiting relatives in Bowie, Texas. ELDER A. BLACK will preach at the Baptist church Sunday. MRS. JESSIE WILSON went to Canton, Mississippi to visit her brother, WALTER PRITCHARD. J. C. MASSEY and LUTHER BROWN returned from a trip to the pasture. MISSES BONNIE MASSEY, LOLA WEAKLEY and GRACE WILSON went to Duncan to visit friends. MISS TENNIE SLAVTON of Alvord, Texas who has been visiting friends here has gone to Marlow to visit friends. LUTHER BROWN and sister, MISS EHTEL BROWN, MISS VIOLA FERGUSON, and master LUTHER JAY BROWN will leave tomorrow for their home in Arkansas. MRS. F. A. WAGNER and son HUGH, who have been visiting the family of G. E. GREEN for several days, will return home to Weatherford, Texas. WALT GOLDEN went to Duncan. JACK RAMSEY and GANO YATES went to Waurika to attend the picnic. MRS. EMMA J. HUNT of Haskell, Texas is here visiting J. W. HUNT and family. The badger fight last night was a success. The main participant can tell you about it. P. B. ROGERS who is traveling for the Frederickson-Krob Music Co. is in the city today. MISS CLAUDIA DERR returned from Waurika. PAUL YOUNG returned from Indiana where he has been visiting the old home. Mr. and Mrs. U. G. WILKINSON will leave tomorrow for Missouri. They will travel through Arkansas. NED FARRIS, brother of MRS. TOM FARRIS, died yesterday morning at the home of UNCLE TOM FARRIS, of typhoid fever. He was buried at 1 p.m. at the city cemetery. MRS. EMELINE CARTER of Bowie, Texas, sister of the WILKINSON brothers, came in yesterday to visit. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. SIMPSON of Lawton are visiting friends here and looking over matters connected with their near here. AUDLEY HILLERY had his foot cut badly with barb wire at the home of his uncle, ED GRUBBS in Comanche county. BILL DEATON is having his livery barn repaired. ARTHUR CLICK returned from Kansas City. MRS. W. W. HAWHEE went to Walters. J. F. CHAMBERS returned from eastern markets. ROY MOBLEY returned from Ardmore. MISSES MABEL LEACH and SALLIE YATES visited MISS BERTHA RIVES in Comanche county. DR. HOWELL returned from St. Joe, Missouri where he attended the funeral of his wife who died there a few days ago. AUTIS V. CAMPBELL and BILL DEATON made a flying trip to Comanche county. MRS. DAFFIE WHITLEY of Cement and MISS MINNIE WYNN of Missouri are here visiting their aunt, MRS. H. L. DEATON. JOHN MARTIN of Duncan shipped 13 cars of steers to St. Louis. PINK LOWRIE shipped 7 cars to Fort Worth. There has been a committee of the school directors consisting of A. W. REYNOLDS, J. S. LEFTWICH, and MRS. At Carmen, Oklahoma, the five year son of J. F. SCHROEDER, who lives 5 miles of town, was accidentally killed with a target gun. Notice Beginning Monday, Sept. 8, my pasture will be closed. HUDLOW brought to this office four ears of corn taken from the J. T.
