Description of the events, mainly horse racing. Cow Pony relay at 1 1/2 miles; J. D. WILSON, ED PACE, IRA CHIPMAN, E. W. CHAMBERS starting, won for E. W. CHAMBERS. Wild steer throwing with WILL PICKETT. Roping contest entries: WARD SIES, HINES MORRIS, F. E. BOWLES, GEORGE POGUE, BUSTER FLORENCE, WES DEVASHER, J. KEITH, IRA CHIPMAN, HENRY ROWLAND, E. C. CHAMBERS, CLARENCE MAYES, HENRY PRICE. Relay race on third day: E. W. CHAMBERS, CLARENCE MAYES, EWALT BOONE, ALEX BOATMAN, IRA CHIPMAN, WES DEVASHER. News gathered during the week. WILL YATES left for St. Louis. G. W. MELLISH and wife left for Ryan. COL. R. L. MARCH of Duncan was a business visitor. REX STARK returned to Addington Sunday after a few days here. MISS IRENE JONES of Wichita Falls is the guest of her sister, MRS. JAMES HOWARD. STEPHEN BROWN and wife were visiting relatives here. MISS MAGGIE HALL returned from visiting friends at Gainesville, Texas. MRS. JIM HOWARD went to Temple to visit MRS. LUTHER TARKENTON. D. A BREWER offers his elegant 12 room residence and three business lots for sale. BEN WILKINSON who has been quite sick has improved. CLARENCE MAYES of Purcell was here to attend the carnival and visit with his half brother J. D. WILSON. J. R. DAY of Cornish was in attendance at the Carnival and subscribed to the Reflex. MR. WINEGAR and wife, living six miles northwest of Comanche, are the proud parents of a fine boy born Tuesday. MISS JENNIE ALEXANDER, who has been visiting her brother, ED ALEXANDER, and his family, returned to Fort Worth. H. A. HALL went to Lawton to attend the Indian payment. MISS AMY HUFFAKER who formerly lived here came down from Chickasha to visit friends and attend the Carnival. She was accompanied by her sister, MRS. PALMER. HUB ODOM of Whitesboro, Texas spent the latter part of the week here. LUTHER TARKENTON and wife are rejoicing over the arrival of a little babe at their home Monday. MISS ALLIE WAREHAM of Walker Valley neighborhood left Friday for a visit at Enid. D. G. WILKINSON is conducting a series of meetings at Woolsey. The J. D. COX lumber yard is filling the bill for the lumber for the erection of the Willow Point school house. WILL CARDEN and wife of Hastings, formerly of Comanche, are rejoicing over the arrival of a sweet baby girl. JOE WILSON, wife and son of Purcell are here to attend the Carnival and to visit with the family of J. D. WILSON. MRS. D. A. WARNER left for Dallas to buy extensive stock of fall and winter millinery. MRS. J. A GARDNER, MRS. HARDIE KIRBY, and BOB GARDNER, mother, sister and brother of LEON GARDNER, were here to attend the carnival and to visit Leon. J. W. PASSMORE, who owns a nice farm in the new country northwest of here, a reader of the Reflex, called at our office and set'em up to a fine watermelon. L. B. EWING leaves this week to visit with relatives at Higgins, Texas. E. W. CARLOCK of Ben Franklin, Texas is spending the week with his sister, MRS. PATTY. GEORGE T. WELDON, the carpenter, was a business visitor in Terral Wednesday. He has the contract for the wood work for some new brick buildings going up there. MISS WILLIE GARDNER, who has been doing the World's Far for the past few weeks, stopped off on her return home for a few days visit with her brother, LEON GARDNER. The Supplement JOHN HOLMES and wife are entertaining his sister of Roswell, New Mexico. GEORGE S. LINGO of Ada stopped off here to visit with T. B. WILKINSON. JOE J. SPARKS and wife left Wednesday for Ardmore to join a party going to the World's Fair. WILL CLICK, the urbane clerk at W. A. YATES, was a pleasant caller and subscribed to the Reflex. JOE SCHNEIDER of Creighton, Nebraska spent the past week with his brother, A. P. SCHNEIDER. He left for his home Wednesday. Andy accompanied him as far as Marlow. CHARLES RAMSEY and family of Cedar Hill, Texas, who have been visiting the parents of Mrs. Ramsey, Mr. and Mrs. JOE KIMMEL, returned home. J. D. CARLOCK of Mangum has been visiting his sister, MRS. SUE C. PATTY of near this city. He was accompanied by his daughter, MISS LEE O. CARLOCK, who is a member of the staff of the Sun-Monitor at Mangum. J. B. LEACH of Edgewood sent to this office Monday a watermelon that came up volunteer out there and never was cultivated, but tipped the scales at 36 pounds. STELZEY & EASTER have rented space in the front part of the H. A. HALL & Co. and will put in a full and up to date millinery. Mrs. Easter left Monday for St. Louis where she will buy their stock and learn the latest fads in the milliner's art of trimming. Mrs. Easter is a milliner of much experience and will have a millinery stock second to none. UNCLE JOE KIMMEL drove up to the Reflex office door and yelled for the Reflex man to come out. When we went out to see what was the matter, he signed us to two fine watermelons in the back of his wagon. They weighed 42 and 45 pounds. ED HAMNER of Attalla, Alabama arrived last week to visit his cousins, the MISSES MILLER and J. P MILLER, the druggist. He is a brother of our former townsman, JOHN HAMNER. MRS. L. B. EWING returned to Fort Still to visit her brothers, who have just returned from San Carlos, Arizona. PERCY, who was hurt in the explosion, is improving slowly. FRANK HILLERY left Wednesday to visit his parents at his old home in Cambridge, Illinois. Before leaving he called and ordered the Reflex to be sent to his father's address. During his absence, BOB WEBB will try to console Frank's best girl. HENRY ROWLAND met with a painful accident in the roping contest… We have a splendid article this week from the pen of JOHN T. MORRIS, the nurseryman on truck and fruit growing in this part of the country. For sale--one registered cow, one incubator, 30 thoroughbred Plymouth Rock chicken, lady's bicycle, piano… D. A. BREWER. Willow Point Dry Creek Mr. and Mrs. C. T. GLASS spent the day at the home of Mr. and Mrs. WALTERS. Mr. MACK and MISS ADA GREGG also spent the evening. HARVE GREEN returned from Nocona. The ice cream social at Mr. and Mrs. BUKLEOS was well attended. CHARLES GREEN has been ill. MISS LILLIE BUSH visited MISS NORA WALTON Tuesday. FRANK CAGEY and MISS DELLA WINN visited Mr. Wilcox and wife Sunday and helped MISS PEARL and Mr. RAY eat watermelon. The ball game was fine that was played on Mr. WALTON's place Saturday. Those playing: FRANK KAGEY, TOM BELL, GEORGE BURK, ARTHUR CLICK, JOE BURK, BURL BENNETT, ALLEN BUSH, CLARENCE BUSH, BILL SIMPSON, ROY SIMPSON, TOM TATE, ROBERT TATE. MRS. C. E. MALONEY and children visited Mr. WALTERS Tuesday. L. L. BUSH says he has a very fine piece of cotton up in the reserve, but I don't think he is the only one. FRED DOVER, MACK GREGG, BOMER WALTON, HENRY WALTON, ARTHUR WALTON, ARTHUR WINN, and LESLIE WINN have been helping Mr. HERN in the broom corn. Red School House Items W. T. CLICK left for Tussey to hold a series of protracted meetings. MRS. J. L. COX came down from Lamont and intends to make this her future home. MISS LEDBETTER of Marlow, who has been visiting G. T. HERN and wife, returned home. ANNETTA COX, SADIE MOORE, JOE and ETTA BARK spent a pleasant evening at the home of W. T. CLICK, as guests of ARTHUR and WILLIE CLICK. FRANK MARSHALL's father came to his home last week and is very sick with fever. IKE HURST has been here attending to business. He will return to Pauls Valley, accompanied by CHESS TARKENTON and wife for a short visit. Monday while ED DONALDSON was trying to ride a broncho for his brother-in-law, the horse reared up and fell backwards, falling on Mr. Donaldson. King Cotton Monday morning, C. J. HENDERSON of Petersburg arrived on the market with the first bale of cotton to be marketed in Comanche this season. The cotton was middling and sold for 10 cents and a premium of $25.00. This bale of cotton was raised at Courtney Flats some 50 miles from here and speaks well for our town as a cotton market…. Contributors to the premium: H. A. HALL & Co., BINDER & HILLERY, B. Wedded JESSE BOUNDS and MISS ELLA MCDONALD, both of this city, were married at Ryan Wednesday. MISSES MINNIE FREEMAN and ELLA HOOVER accompanied the bridal couple to Ryan. Mr. Bounds is the son of REV. J. E. BOUNDS and the bride is a niece of A. N. FREEMAN. In the evening a number of friends of the family were invited for refreshments of melon, sherbet, and wafers. The Reflex joins with their many friends in wishing the a happy and prosperous wedded life. Little Folks' Party Dainty little invitations of small note paper, bearing the inscription, "Come to my party" printed with artistic letters in red ink and little envelopes to match the note paper were sent out this week by little LOIS and LUCILE WEAKLEY for a lawn party to be given at their home Thursday evening. Those receiving invitations were: FLOY STEPHENS, LAURA WILSON, LALLA LEECH, ANN SCOTT, BONNIE MASSEY, ROSA MASSEY, MAMIE PAYNE, POLLIE DIEHL, RUTH SLOAN, VERA CHIPMAN, CLAUD EPPERSON, GRADY EPPERSON, WEBSTER BRADFORD, CLYDE KINCAID, ROY KINCAID, CLYDE STEPHENS, HUGH CHIPMAN, LEE DEATON, WAYNE HALL, CHESTER HARDY, ARTHUR BROWN, ARTHUR TANKERSLEY, CARL HUNT, ALDON MORRIS.
