Burial will be in Duncan Cemetery under the direction of Carter-Smart Funeral Home. ========= Duncan Banner 26 Mar 2003 Delphine Ann Floyd Almy Delphine Ann Floyd Almy, 59, of Duncan passed away Sunday, March 23, 2003, in Duncan Regional Hospital after a brief illness. Service will be at 3:30 p.m.Thursday in First Baptist Church with Dr. Craig Christina officiating and the Rev. Tommy Billings assisting. Burial will be in Duncan Cemetery under the care of Carter-Smart Funeral Home. Delphine Ann was born May 29, 1943, in Duncan, to John and Loice Lawson Floyd. She was a graduate of the University of Oklahoma. She married James Almy on June 6, 1966, in Norman. Mrs. Almy was a lifelong high school and middle school teacher and a member of First Baptist Church. Her many interests besides her family were her church, AAUW, music, teaching, needlepoint, travel, lending a hand to anyone in need and living life to the fullest. Survivors include her husband, James, of the home; her mother, Loice Floyd, of Duncan; a daughter, Sally Ann Herndon, and her husband, Brian, of Oklahoma City; a son, James Allan Almy Jr. of Oklahoma City; three granddaughters, Amanda, Madison and Megan Herndon, all of Oklahoma City; a brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Sandra Floyd of Ardmore; an aunt, Leota Whitley of Tulsa; an uncle and aunt, Sam and Virginia Lawson of Hacienda Heights, Calif.; her father-in-law, James E. Almy of West Palm Beach, Fla.; two sisters-in-law, Mona Hicks and Linda Almy, both of West Palm Beach; and numerous cousins and friends. Bearers will be James Allan Almy Jr., Ron Floyd, Sandra Floyd, George Buchanan, David Redelsperger and David Kaspereit.
