Artre of Athens Ark, formerly of Marlow, born in Moyers OK to James Monroe and Frankie Mae Sweeten Artre, died March 29 1999 at Christus St. Michael Health Care Center in Texarkana TX. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War Two, a retired truck driver and he was a Baptist. He had lived in Arkansas 23 years. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law Joyce Dee and Richard Price of Marlow, a son and daughter-in-law James David and Nancy Artre of Duncan, grandchildren, Ricky and Patti Price, Deana and Mitch McAdoo, and Monica and Erin Artre, five great-grandchildren, two brothers, Garlin Nonroe Artre and Walter Artre both of Ft. Worth TX., seven sisters, Frankie Logan of King of Anaheim Ca, Lorene Lowder of Neosho MO, Ethel Baxter of Palm Bay FL, Jo Wainwright of Shreveport LA, Ila Hill of Dierks Ark, Jean Wilson of Nashville Ark, and Helen Kitchens of Oklahoma City. Graveside services were held in Fairlawn Cemetery in Comanche with Joe Ligon Officiating. Burial was under the direction of the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home of Marlow. --------------------------------------------------------------------
