All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Duncan Banner 4 Nov 2002 Biffle, Myrl "Granny" Mryl "Granny" Biffle, 93, of Duncan died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2002, in Duncan. Service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Bethesda Church of God in Duncan with the Rev. Harold Metheny officiating and the Rev. Edward Jackson assisting. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Comanche. Mrs. Biffle was born May 7, 1909, in Big Springs, Texas, to Slater A. and Myrtle A. Eason. She married Henderson Porter Biffle on May 8, 1926, at Weaver Chapel, east of Comanche. "Hence" passed on to his reward on Nov. 28, 1968. Mrs. Biffle retired from Duncan Laundry where she had worked as a press operator for 23 years. She was a charter member of the Church of God in 1958. She was a Sunday School teacher for many years and served as pastor at churches in El Reno and Tahlequah. Mrs. Biffle was the mother of eight children. Survivors include four children and their spouses, Mae and C.W. Patow of Kerrville, Texas, James R. and Venita Biffle of Marlow, Alfred P. and Carolyn Biffle and Vera and Ray Powers, all of Duncan; two sons-in-law, Victor L. Chandler of Big Springs, Texas, and Charles McCorkle of Oklahoma City; 17 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four children, Rosa Faye on Nov. 14, 1927; Baby Biffle on April 13, 1937; Jewel McCorkle on Aug. 8, 1996; and Viola Chandler on Dec. 25, 1999. Also, as the last survivor among her siblings, she was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters. Bearers will be her grandsons.
