Services will be held at Greenlawn Southwest Memorial Chapel, 2739 Panama Ln., Friday, February 4, at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow. Henry Dorman Byford was born November 18, 1920 to Earle and H.C. Byford in Stephens County, Oklahoma. He was one of ten children; surviving him are brothers, Preston, Eddie, Cleo Jr. and Earl; and sisters, Peggy Niehoff and Claudine Branch. Preceding him were brother, Leo and sisters, Melba McGuire and Audrey Richardson. He married Virginia Daniels June 12, 1941. He served during WWII and received a Purple Heart for injury in Okinawa. They had five children. The family moved to California when H.D. was transferred by Halliburton in 1963. After approximately 25 years of service with Halliburton he retired, but was still active with the Halliburton Retirees Breakfast Club. He was a member of the disabled American Veterans. He was also active in the Masonic Lodge. He was survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Virginia and five children, Janie Willmon and husband, Jimmy; Jerry Byford; Kathy Pote and husband, Mike; Emalea Brians and husband, Randy; Dee Byford; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
