'Jim' Bishop MARLOW - James A. "Jim" Bishop, 70, of Marlow, died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002, at the Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton. Service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Comanche with George Peterson, Laron Branson, Ron Johnson and Richard May officiating. Burial will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Dudley Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. today. James Bishop was born on March 3, 1932, in Velma to Lee and Nannie Bishop. After graduating from Comanche High School in 1950, he attended two years of college before marrying Martha Ann Williams on Aug. 9, 1952, in Benton, Ark. He served his country for four years in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. Jim and Martha farmed for 30 years in Kansas. Jim enjoyed another 20 years building homes, restaurants, cabinets and furniture. He is survived by his wife, Martha, of the home; two sons, Charlus J. Bishop and his wife Teresa of Kingman, Kan. and Grady J. Bishop and his wife Jenae of Manhattan, Kan.; three brothers, C.T. Bishop of Comanche, O.L. Bishop of Edinburg, Texas, and Lee A. Bishop of Duncan; two sisters, Helen Luccie of Comanche and Betty McIntosh of Monticello, Minn.; and two grandchildren, Whitney Lauren and Westin Lake Bishop. Bearers will be Jim Shelby, Bill Brown, Arlis Newhouse, Gary Bishop, Terry Bishop and Jerry Kramer. Honorary bearers will be Bob Crawford and Richard Zimmerman. ========= Duncan Banner 3 Oct 2002 James A. Bishop COMANCHE - Service for James A.
