Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, at Don Grantham Funeral Home with the Rev. G. W. Howard assisted by W. M. Howard officiating. Burial was held in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Born March 5, 1918, to Whithouser and May Bell (Jensen) Nye in Ft. Scott, KS, she was nurse at Plato Manor and a waitress at the Good Luck Cafe. She was a member of the Hilltop Church of God. She married Albert "Babe" Williams, he preceded her in death in 1982, she then married Clad W. Best, he also preceded her in death. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a son Marvin Williams in 1996. Survivors include four daughters Margie Ponse Martinez of Marlow, Maxcine Lion of Comanche, Patsy Howard of Marlow and Reba Sosebee of Wichita Falls, TX; 22 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great- great-grandchild. Other survivors include a brother Charles L. Simmons of Cadillac, MI; and three sisters Ruby Sutton of Lawton, Gertrude Copeland and Margie Louise Wilkinson both of Duncan. Serving as pallbearers were grandsons.
