His death certificate says he died Aug 16, 1938 INTERMENT IN FAIRLAWN M. D. Butler, for more than thirty-eight years a resident of this county, passed away at his home east of Comanche at 12:10 noon, Tuesday at the age of 86 year. Funeral services were held at Fairlawn cemetery with Rev. H. B. Ramsour, Pastor of the First Baptish Church, conducting the rites. Beeson Grantham Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Butler was born in Rome, Georgia, April 19, 1852. He was married in January 1875 to Miss Dollie Blasingame of Italy, Texas. To this union was born nine children, five of whom survive. His wife preceded him in death several years ago. With his family he came to this section of the county settling on the farm where he passed away this week, approximately thirty-eight years ago. For many years he was active in community affairs and served as member of the Board of Education there. He was a memeber of the Baptist church.
