Black Jr. Arnold E. Black Jr., 68, of Duncan died Saturday, April 26, 2003, in Marlow. Service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Ray of Hope Church with Mike McCord officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Arnold was born Dec. 4, 1934, in Tulsa, to Arnold E. and Mildred Hightower Black Sr. He married Shirley Ann Singleterry on June 3, 1956, in Duncan. Mr. Black was a retired Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy, where he served as a pilot. He was a member of Ray of Hope Church. Survivors include his wife, Shirley, of the home; a daughter, Betty Jo Black of Tulsa; a brother, Donnie Black of Okmulgee; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Robert Black in 1999. Bearers will be Paul Burke, Bill Ford, Mike Wilson, Ronnie Wilson, Cliff Walraven, Lower Colley, Jim Sanders, Gale Taylor and Gordon Chandler. Honorary bearer is Dr. Bashar Alasad.
