Memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in West Side Christian Church. Funeral: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Heritage United Methodist Church, 4344 Heritage Ave., Grapevine. Burial: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Marvin was born Oct. 8, 1918, in Gainesville. Upon completing high school, he began his 42-year career with the Southwestern Bell Telephone System, which was briefly interrupted by his service in the U.S. Army Signal Corps during World War II. Marvin was a former member of First United Methodist Church in Grapevine. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Effie Mae; and a sister, Virginia Nessel.
