"Bud" Brown, 99, of Dallas, formerly of Duncan, died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2002. A private service will be at a later date with burial in Resthaven Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday at 912 Hillcrest Drive in Duncan. Mr. Brown was born Sept. 25, 1902, in Gordo, Ala. He moved to Duncan at the age of 18 and worked for Roy Nix. In 1949, he opened Bud Brown’s Barber Shop on Main Street. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and Moose Lodge. He was active for many years with the March of Dimes after his daughter, Sharon, was stricken with Polio. Mr. Brown was a member of the First Christian Church in Duncan. At the age of 85, he moved to Houston, Texas, to live with his son, Johnnie, they moved to Dallas in 1992. He lived with his son until age 97 and then moved to the Golden Acres Campus in Dallas where he resided until his death.
