Barnett ODESSA, Texas - Alton W. Barnett, 75, of Odessa, Texas, died Monday, May 27, 2002, in Odessa. Service will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Sunset Memorial Chapel in Odessa with Don Swindell officiating. Burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive guests from 6 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. Mr. Barnett was born Aug. 1, 1926, to Allen and Ruth Lee Barnett. He married Dora Lee Olson on June 9, 1945, in Duncan. Mr. Barnett moved to Odessa in 1945 from Comanche. He enjoyed yard work and spending time with his grandchildren. He was Baptist. Survivors include his wife of Odessa; a son, Danny Barnett, and his wife, Marice, of Odessa; four daughters and their husbands, Patsy and Van Chambers of Cisco, Texas, Kay and Ray McCubin of Dardanelle, Ark., Carolyn and Bobby Patterson of Kenai, Alaska, and Judy and Dewayne Parker of Odessa; two sisters, Rita Mae Jones of Comanche, and Durlene Morris and her husband, John, of Odessa; a sister-in-law, Ann Barnett of Odessa; two brothers-in-law, Tommy Olson and Willard Olson both of Atoka; six grandchildren, Kim Spiegel, Alton Ray and Brian McCubin, Tonya Hunter, and Jill and Scott Patterson; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Alvin Ray; two sisters, V.E. Brown and Bernice Wysong; a brother-in-law, Henry Jones; and two grandchildren, Ricky and Tonya Chambers.
