Services were held Monday, Sept. 12, at the First Baptist Church in Duncan, with the Rev. Jody Hilliard officiating. Burial was at the Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow. Mae was born Wednesday, April 24, 1918, to John B. and Myrtle (Fine) Summers. She married the late J.C. Barnard on Oct. 3, 1934. He preceded her in death on July 12, 1992. Mae Dee attended school in Rush Springs. She lived in the Duncan area most of her life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Duncan. Survivors include a son, Jim Barnard of Duncan; five grandchildren, Jay Mullens of Oklahoma City, Jeff Mullens of Richardson, Texas, Michael Barnard and wife Kerri of Frisco, Texas, Michelle Barnard of Norman, and Matthew Barnard and wife Connie of Norman; five great-grandchildren, Langdon, Niven and Jaci Barnard of Norman, and Nathanial and Elizabeth Barnard of Frisco; a brother, Wayne Summers and wife Myria of Bethany; a brother-in-law, Warren Barnard and wife Bonnie of Marlow; and a sister-in- law, Marla Kay Coleman of Marlow.
