Chew Service for Faye M. Chew, 90, of Duncan, who died today in Duncan, is pending with Don Grantham Funeral Home. ========= Duncan Banner 4 Apr 2003 Faye M. Chew Faye M. Chew, 90, of Duncan died Thursday, April 3, 2003, in Duncan. Service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the First Baptist Church Chapel with the Rev. Jody Hilliard officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Faye was born March 6, 1913, in Tussy, to Cain B. and Myrtle Minnie Potts Miller. She married Alton E. Chew on March 14, 1940, in Ada. He preceded her in death on Dec. 31, 1979. She was retired as a cosmetologist and owned and operated a beauty salon. Faye was a charter member of Tussy Baptist Church, which later combined with Pernell Baptist Church to become Midway Baptist Church. She joined the First Baptist Church in Duncan in August of 1948 and was a 50-year member. She was a Sunday School worker in the Baptist church all of her life. Also, she was a 50-year member of Eastern Star where she was Worthy Matron in 1953, Grand Representative in 1983-84 and president of Past Matrons. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Al H. and Anita Chew of Casa Grande, Ariz., and Van M. and June Chew of Konowa; a sister, Rubye Lennon of Tulsa; three grandsons, Cab Chew of Globe, Ariz., Rob Chew and his wife, Rina, of Konowa, and Clint Chew of Okemah; two granddaughters, Cheli Shelmire and her husband, Spencer, of Travis Air Force Base in California, and Amy Chew of Red Oak, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Carlee Chew and Abby Chew of Konowa; and a special friend of 73 years, Toy Gentry of Duncan. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Earl Miller; and five sisters, Para Lee Jones, Pearl Allgood, Edna Moore, Lola Mae Moss and Bonnie Farris. Bearers will be Aubrey Lyons, Frank Stanbaugh, Charley Gentry, Bill Lewis, Hugh Swift and Joe Galey.
