Temple - Joseph Watson Copeland, 85, Temple dies Monday around noon in a Duncan nursing home after a long illness. Services will be held at 2 pm Wednesday in the First Baptist Church of Temple with Rev. Wde Hunter, pastor of the Indiahoma Baptist Church officiating. He will be assisted by the Rev. Lawrence Cox, pastor of the Temple First Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery of Temple under the direction of Wyatt Funeral Home. He was born September 26, 1885 in Arkansas and was married to Berenette South on December 19, 1909 in Bennington, Oklahoma. She died in 1966. He came to Cotton county in 1912. A farmer, he was employed by the county until his retirement in 1967. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Temple. Surviving are six sons; O.B., Rush Springs ; Oliver, Mancie and Kenneth, all of Temple; Haskell of Carrolton, Texas and L. J. of Wilson; 4 daughters; Mrs. Boyd Vantine, 1310 Peck; Mrs. R.E. Vowell, Oklahoma City; Mrs. C.C.Kiddy, Tulsa; Mrs. W.T. Ricketts, Savannah, Tennessee; 35 grandchildren and 59 great grandchildren
